Introducing The 'This Feeling' Stage At The Dunfermline Live Music Festival

The Dunfermline Live music festival is set to rock Scotland's ancient capital after attracting what organisers say is its best line-up yet.

On Saturday 18th October the town will be buzzing as music fans from all over the UK arrive for a feast of entertainment.

There is a mixture of established festival favourites such as headliners Embrace, King Creosote, Eugene McGuinness, Hector Bizerk, Dexters and AMWF alongside the cream of the country's fast-emerging talent such as The Merrylees, Vigo Thieves, Scary People, Neon Waltz, Modern Faces and The Moon Kids.

The organisers have high hopes to build Dunfermline Live into one of Scotland's top music festivals and have made a promising start over the past two years when Shed Seven and Big Country were the headliners.
This year the event has been pared down from three days to just one with the emphasis on attracting a packed schedule of quality indie acts playing at six venues all within easy walking distance of each other.
Tickets are £20 and allow to music fans wander from bar to bar enjoying their favourites and they are guaranteed entry to headliners Embrace.

Frontman Danny McNamara believes that Scottish music fans are the noisiest in the world and is relishing his first visit to Dunfermline to see how Fife measures up on the decibel count.

With three previous number one albums under the belt, the Yorkshire band this year made a successful return after a seven-year absence.

Their self-titled album released in April reached number five in the UK charts and they also made a welcome return to an own stomping ground for the last T in the Park at Balado.

Danny McNamara is excited about the band's first foray into Dunfermline. He said, "Whenever we play in Scotland there's always a real buzz. The fans in Scotland seem to be noisier than anywhere else so we're really looking forward to playing at Dunfermline Live.

"When we got asked to headline the festival it was a no-brainer really and we're really looking forward to coming. There's Embrace fans coming from London, from Yorkshire, from all over so it should be good.
"We love playing in Scotland. T in the the Park is always brilliant for us. Two of my three favourite gigs we've ever done were at T in the Park so it's always amazing when we play there."

Dan Forouhar, singer of hotly-tipped Scary People, said, "This is our first time in Dunfermline with the band. I'm shocked we've never hit it before now but all the boys are really looking forward to it especially going there with another Dundee contingent. It should be a great day and I don't doubt it will be a big success for everybody."

Dunfermline Live organiser Calum Miller said, "We've been able this year to go out and get some of the best up and coming bands from across the UK along with well-established headline acts.

"Embrace having a top five album this year, Fife's own King Creosote and Eugene McGuinness has been one of our favourites for a long time and it's a big year for him.

"It's great to have people like Hector Bizerk and the Dexters on board and also to give a platform to local bands from this area like Modern Faces and The Moon Kids. They are doing exceptionally well on the Scottish music scene and it's great for them to play in their home town at an event like this.

"With all that combined, we think it's an amazing line-up this year and it's going to be one of the best days of music Dunfermline has seen for a long time. The amount of quality in just one day is superb.

"The number of wristbands will be limited so that everybody gets the chance to see the headline band Embrace. People turning up will be given a map of Dunfermline showing where all the venues are and a timetable.

"Dunfermline's a beautiful place to visit, a historic town and to see place buzzing with live music on the day is going to be fantastic. We've got such a rich heritage of music in Dunfermline and the Fife area that it's great to be able to bring a festival of this size to the town.

"We've seen the success of Dunfermline bands like Big Country, the Skids and Nazareth in the past and it's great to see the new breed coming through and hopefully events like this will help us find the next big Dunfermline act."

Gifford Bruce, of main sponsors the Alfred Stewart Property Foundation Ltd, said, "This year's Dunfermline Live line-up has a great line-up with a diverse range of bands and it's fantastic to see ticket sales going so well.

"It will attract music fans from Glasgow, Edinburgh and further afield into Dunfermline which is a good thing for local businesses and it will also give young local bands an opportunity to showcase their talents and hopefully add to the rich music heritage the town is proud to have."
